Since 2017, 265 aspiring conservation professionals from around the world have participated in the Frankfurt Spring School. During the intensive four-week program in Frankfurt, participants not only strengthen their project management skills but also build lasting friendships and professional relationships. While these connections have often remained strong within individual cohorts, there has been little opportunity for alumni from different years to connect.
The new Alumni Program changes that by bringing together conservation professionals from across the global Frankfurt Spring School community. Whether they completed the program a few months ago or nearly ten years ago, alumni share a common foundation in conservation project management and a commitment to protecting biodiversity.
“Our goal is to ensure that the Frankfurt Spring School doesn’t end after four weeks. Instead, it becomes the beginning of a lifelong network where conservation professionals continue to learn, collaborate, and support one another throughout their careers.”
The Goals
The Alumni Program has two overarching goals: to build and sustain a well-connected global community of conservation professionals and to foster lifelong learning and professional development beyond the Spring School itself.
Through the Alumni Program, participants can:
• Connect with fellow alumni through the online platform
• Join monthly virtual events
• Take part in mentorship opportunities
• Exchange ideas, experiences, and updates
• Look forward to future local meetups and larger alumni gatherings
Together, these activities create opportunities for alumni to continue learning from one another, share expertise, and build meaningful professional relationships that support their work throughout their conservation careers.
A Global Community
