The variety of habitats offered by the Carpathians is matched by the diversity of the plant and animal life. It comes as little surprise, then, to discover that this region is a treasure trove of biodiversity.
Since November 2016, Simon Anstey is Director of Frankfurt Zoological Society’s Africa Programme. The 54-year-old ecologist and social scientist who grew up in Tanzania brings the experience of many years of conservation work in several African countries to the table and a passion for its people.
Now, he is setting out to prepare FZS for keeping up the good work in a future of ever-increasing challenges along with new opportunities.
