We are devastated by the conflict development in Ukraine. Currently our main priority is to bring our local colleagues, their families and friends to safety.
Ukraine: Project work on hold, supporting staff to get to safety
We have been working since 2002 in various protected areas in the country, namely Polesia and the Carpathian mountains with local staff and partners until this morning.
Our regional office is located in Lviv, the western part of Ukraine. Lviv has already been targeted by the conflict and the FZS office is now empty. While the situation is still unfolding it is our priority to get all our staff and the people we work with to safety.
We cannot say how our work will be affected in the future, but for now all activities have been put on pause. We will continue the conservation work we have started in the country but for now the safety of our colleagues, their families and friends is our top priority. Our thoughts and hearts are with the people of Ukraine.
