Wir, die Zoologische Gesellschaft Frankfurt (ZGF) sind eine internationale Naturschutzorganisation und haben es uns zur Aufgabe gemacht, Wildtiere und Ökosysteme in Schutzgebieten und herausragenden Wildnisgebieten zu erhalten. Daher sind wir in artenreichen Gebieten in Mittel- und Osteuropa, in Ostafrika, Zentral- und Südamerika sowie in Südostasien aktiv. Wo immer Nationalparks und Wildnisgebiete Unterstützung benötigen, arbeiten wir eng mit lokalen Gemeinschaften, Naturschutzbehörden, Nationalparkverwaltungen und anderen NGOs zusammen. Diese Position ist auf zwei Jahre befristet, mit der Option auf langfristige Übernahme.

Als Senior Officer Philanthropy (gn) verantworten Sie die Konzeption und Umsetzung maßgeschneiderter Akquise-Strategien für Großspender und philanthropische Partner. Ihr Fokus liegt dabei vor allem auf Deutschland, aber auch der Schweiz und Liechtenstein. Mit Ihrem Engagement fördern Sie die langfristige Unterstützung für unsere Projekte und gestalten innovative, wirkungsorientierte Finanzierungsansätze mit.

We are an international conservation organization dedicated to preserving wildlife and ecosystems in protected and outstanding wilderness areas. FZS is active in biodiversity-rich regions in Central and Eastern Europe, East Africa, Central and South America, and Southeast Asia. Wherever national parks and wilderness areas need support, we work closely with local communities, conservation authorities, park administrations, and other NGOs.
Your Role
As Senior Officer Philanthropy (gn), you will be responsible for designing and implementing tailored fundraising strategies for major donors and philanthropic partners – from HNWI/UHNWI and family offices to large foundations. Your focus will be on Germany, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein. With your commitment, you will foster long-term support for our projects and help shape innovative, impact-oriented funding approaches.
Ihre Aufgaben
Strategische Entwicklung & Beziehungsmanagement:
- Identifikation, Analyse und Segmentierung bestehender und potenzieller Großspender und philanthropischer Partner
- Entwicklung individueller Betreuungsstrategien und Präsentation maßgeschneiderter Förderangebote
- Aufbau, Pflege und Weiterentwicklung langfristiger Beziehungen, inkl. individueller Betreuung mit Fokus auf wertebasiertes Engagement und Wirkungstransparenz
Netzwerkpflege & Positionierung:
- Positionierung der ZGF im philanthropischen Ökosystem (z. B. Thought Leadership, Panels, Events mit Fokus auf Spendenengagement)
- Monitoring und Analyse relevanter Trends in den Bereichen Vermögensnachfolge, Next-Gen-Philanthropie und Impact Investing sowie der digitalen Kommunikation mit dem Ziel der kontinuierlichen Weiterentwicklung
Operative Umsetzung & Kommunikation:
- Erstellung überzeugender, zielgruppenfokussierter Förderanträge, Pitch-Dokumente, Projektanträge und Wirkungsberichte
- Organisation und Teilnahme an Investor Circles, Philanthropie-Retreats und exklusiven Events
- Entwicklung und Einführung digitaler Tools, Formate und Reportings zur Steigerung von Transparenz, Wirkung sowie Individualisierung in der Großspender-Kommunikation
Analyse, Monitoring & Finanzplanung:
- Kontinuierliche Analyse der Fundraising-Maßnahmen mit Ableitung von Optimierungen sowie Definition und Umsetzung geeigneter KPIs
- Nutzung von CRM- und digitalen Tools zur Steuerung von Großspender-Beziehungen
- Verantwortung für Segment-, Jahres- und Budgetplanung sowie Einnahmenprognosen
Your Tasks
Strategic Development & Relationship Management
- Identify, analyze, and segment potential major donors and philanthropic partners
- Build, maintain, and further develop long-term relationships, including next-gen philanthropy, with a focus on value-based engagement, impact transparency, and sustainable commitment
- Develop and present tailored funding offers, impact investment, and engagement models
Networking & Positioning
- Position FZS within the philanthropic ecosystem (e.g., thought leadership, panels, events focused on donor engagement)
- Actively maintain national and international networks
- Monitor and analyze relevant trends in wealth succession, next-gen philanthropy, impact investing, and digital communication to ensure continuous development
Operational Implementation & Communication
- Prepare compelling, target group-oriented funding applications, pitch documents, project proposals, and impact reports
- Organize and participate in investor circles, philanthropy retreats, and exclusive events
- Develop and implement digital tools, formats, and reporting to increase transparency, impact, and individualization in major donor communications
Analysis, Monitoring & Financial Planning
- Continuously analyze fundraising activities, derive optimizations, and define and implement suitable KPIs
- Use CRM and digital tools to manage major donor relationships
- Responsible for segment, annual, and budget planning as well as revenue forecasts
Ihr Profil
- Abgeschlossenes Hochschulstudium in Nonprofit-Management, Betriebswirtschaft, Kommunikation, Sozialwissenschaften oder vergleichbar
- Mehrjährige Erfahrung im strategischen Fundraising und in der Philanthropie, idealerweise im internationalen oder europäischen HNWI- bzw. Stiftungsumfeld
- Souveräner Umgang mit (U)HNWI, Family Offices und philanthropischen Stiftungen
- Fundierte Kenntnisse der philanthropischen Landschaft inkl. Next-Gen-Philanthropie, Vermögensnachfolge und Impact Investing
- Praxis im Einsatz digitaler Tools für CRM, Spendenverwaltung und Wirkungsreporting
- Exzellente Kommunikationsfähigkeiten, hohe Empathie und sicheres Auftreten auf C-Level
- Erfahrung in der Erstellung überzeugender Konzepte, Förderanträge und Funding-Proposals
- Unternehmerisches Denken, Eigenmotivation und klare Ergebnisorientierung
- Verhandlungssichere Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse, weitere Sprachen von Vorteil
Your Profile
- University degree in nonprofit management, business administration, communications, social sciences, or a comparable field
- Several years of experience in strategic fundraising and philanthropy, ideally in an international or European HNWI/foundation environment
- Confident in dealing with (U)HNWI, family offices, and philanthropic foundations
- In-depth knowledge of the philanthropic landscape, including next-gen philanthropy, wealth succession, and impact investing
- Practical experience with digital tools for CRM, donation management, and impact reporting
- Excellent communication skills, high empathy, and confident appearance at C-level
- Experience in developing compelling concepts, funding applications, and proposals
- Entrepreneurial thinking, self-motivation, and clear results orientation
- Fluent in German and English; additional languages are an advantage
